This band throws a new curve to the U2 sound with awesome results! Everyone that enjoys U2 should enjoy these works! Great Post!

This is one of the top 2 or 3 albums I've heard on Jamendo since I joined a year ago. "Not quite Maine and not quite New Brunswick?" Indeed! More like "not quite chamber pop and not quite orchestral rock" but the best of both! Catchy, complex and poetic all in one. Instrumentally, this album is strong, rich and intricate. Vocally, impassioned screaming on some songs nearly exhausts the listener, and then gives way to a vulnerable sweetness that hardly seems possible from the same voice--a combination that powerfully expresses the universality of youthful emotion. The lyrics entice and delight the first time you listen, and continue to satisfy after multiple listens. I have no doubt this band will hit it big, and I'm really looking forward to future albums.

Excellent album! Billy Talent, Arcade Fire and Hot Hot Heat better watch their backs, there's a new badass Canadian rock band out there....!

The Cover Art Tree smiles. Because there is a story that passes from the words to music and back again. Because the music hangs together - and what tree would miss a good hanging?

It is a fine album that deserves replaying. For those who do not quite appreciate the growing beauty from beginning to end. Picking a favourite track would be unfair: each track passes some thing to the next. Pick a favourite time to listen. A time when you have an hour free. The time to create Atlantis, Oh Out Saviour was well spent - and the time to listen should be too.

I prefer experimental music. Sometimes, you just have to recognise something is good and recommend it to someone who will appreciate it more than yourself. But there are works that shine through no matter what you like. This is one.

A great album I would definitely reccomend. It is pretty unique in its style and seems to have an energy in a lot of the tracks. My faviroute tracks would be Copying and memories like photographs. look forward to more ;)

fresh and lively

I downloaded this album because I liked the front cover. It reminded me of "Funeral" by The Arcade Fire, and I thought that as The Rest were also Canadian they might be operating in the same sort of area. Reviews of this album have even likened it to The Arcade Fire, but also to U2 and other fairly large and commercial bands.

"Atlantis, Oh Our Saviour" sounds a little like quite a few bands I like, but also does a good job of sounding exactly like it should. There are quiet parts, loud parts, and screamed-into-the-microphone parts (sometimes within the same song). There is rock, orchestral pop, electronica, and a strong sense that this is the start of something beautiful.

I feel the same way I felt when I first heard The Fleet Foxes, The Arcade Fire or (if you can remember that far back) Jeff Buckley's "Grace". I can't pick out favourite tracks because you just have to listen to it all and see if you have room for it in your life.

This band is great, I found them when they added me on Myspace a while back, and then looking through the most popular albums, I saw them here too!

I love the 4th track, I remember hearing it when I was biking the other day, pedaling madly up a hill to a friend's house, and it fit the setting so perfectly. Every song on this album is great. Keep up the good work!
