Album description

Ascension Island is Sweet Mother Logic's debut EP, released June 26, 2008. Over the four instrumental tracks, the mellow sounds of cellos are mixed with analog synths and electric guitars over jagged beats, flowing from tense chaos to melody. As the public's introduction to Sweet Mother Logic, it is also the band's introduction to the world of recording. Thus they kicked things off the old-fashioned way, and recorded and mixed the EP live off the floor onto 2" tape at the Treatment Room, one of Montreal's finest analog studios.

Extraordinary sound

Cello is one of my favorite instruments. These guys gave it a whole other name. Excellent job in general, a good balance of acoustic and electronic sounds, instrumental, just plain extraordinary.

What else can I say, I have had track 1 stuck in my head since I first heard it and I am loving the other tracks easily as much. Keep up the good work

A rich musical soundscape which takes some unexpected twists and turns.The opening track in particular has a sombre yet alluring hook and I find it intruding into my thoughts during the day.
