A big track about nothing and it works well. Such was Zero. Mechanoflora certainly have the pitch right for tracks in space for sure. The ambience continues through to track One, which is two, and so on. There is a curious fascination with zero, because it throws things out so much for being so insubstantial. One had a zero point in it too. Then Two rings its bell, and is very metallic, like drifting through the veil, if you were already there, it brings you out of the reverie, which is what it did for me! The fourth track, Three, an anagram of 'there', indeed proves the point of all this word play, and ultimately the essence of writing about music amounts to zero. Or as someone else said to me, 'it's like dancing about sculpture', but in sculpting and creating his work of expressive art, the sculptor did a little dance themselves, working around their piece of 'work'. Sometimes I get it good, occasionally I even get it right, but a little play with words (and in this case words and numbers) breaks the spell of the music, so listen and enjoy and don't forget that what I, or anyone else says about the music is inescapably subjective and prone to many effective variables within the listeners circumstances. Nice album.
