Album description

The Chinese cultural revolution of the 1960's saw revolutionaries knocking the heads off ancient statues in an attempt to deny and condemn the long Chinese past. This album represents my experiences in China during the mid 1980's and tries to capture the enduring emotional impact of seeing these statues first hand. They remain the embodiment of the need to separate and embrace one's past on both a personal and cultural level.

The experience changed me then and still resonates today in my work and music. Enjoy.

Absolutely gorgeous and brilliantly written & performed..."entrancing"...lovely in every way!

This is a fine, mellow album of good blending and composition. Each track is a testimony to itself and the whole album a testimony to the intention, which was to share a profound experience in a country so different to Western Europe. The latter place experienced it from a great distance and therefore missed, for the most part, the political and cultural importance, or at least they had a mellow interpretation presented to them. There are still people who don't know about Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Personally, I think it's shameful that people don't involve themselves, even if it's just throwing your shoes at someone deemed an enemy.

I LUV this one! Crazy guitar! Big sound! I'm burning a disc to take with!
