Album description

Immortal is the first release from singer/songwriter Val Davis. The album has been featured on NPR's "All Songs Considered", is in rotation on WXPN in Philadelphia and has been played on College Radio Stations nationwide.

Additionally, he has been featured on podcasts, Internet radio stations like "Radio Paradise" and is in the "All Time Top 5" at Garageband.com in the Acoustic category.

Val is continuing to work on his second album.

This album is what can happen when a singer-songwriter with extraordinary talent and insight does not sell out to commercial interests. The arrangements and matter of fact delivery have drawn comparison to Peter Gabriel, with the folk rock appeal of Steven Stills. I also hear the plain truth of icons like Gordon Lightfoot and Harry Chapin. The guitar/voice songs at the end deserve special consideration, and really need to be heard by as many thoughtful people as possible. I predict that Val Davis will soon take his place among significant musical artists of the generation.

Great album. I could name several mainstream classic rock/pop bands that it somewhat reminded me of at moments, but I think it's more important to say that I didn't feel it actually sounded like any of them really.

Val Davis has his own sound going, and this is good, solid, enjoyable music. Definitely worth a listen and it definitely earns a 10 in my opinion.
