Album description

Beyond is a metal, latin, and classical fusion that expresses a variety of emotions. It mostly represents the struggles and overcoming from the time frame that I wrote these songs. I have always enjoyed mixing the power of rock with sweeter, melodic elements to paint musical pictures.

With the exception of 2 additional vocal parts on Nothing to Hide and The Road, they are entirely self-produced, from playing and recording the tracks one by one to mixing and mastering. Music production is my passion and I have more albums I want to release in the near future. This particular group has been collecting dust in the shadows, so I decided it was time to get them out and share them with everyone else. A lot of thought and work went into these (in spite of their imperfections), so I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

Miroir et acier.

Une drôle d'impression. C'est un peu froid, mais les guitares sonnent bien. La voix est juste, une certaine variéte dans la déclinaison des thèmes, surtout avec 01 - Drowning. Yvan a apprécié la dose à peine suggérée d'expérimental qui se dégage de ces musiques.
Pour ma part, je me sens parfois agréablement dérouté par la succession des thèmes esquissés dans un même morceau (en particulier 02 - Endless, mon morceau préféré) Cet artiste prend après tout le contrepied ce ceux qui répètent à l'infini les 3 mêmes notes à grand renfort de nappes de synthé...Et c'est tant mieux. Le chant est précis, il colle bien aux instruments, à tel point que j'ai l'impression que la partie vocale a été conçue pour se joindre à la ligne instrumentale.
Pourtant, Yvan n'est pas parvenu à s'embarquer dans l'univers d' Euphemism avant 07 - Reasons; puis, après plusieurs écoutes du cd, s'est révélé l'aspect citadin, finalement assez sobre et un peu chirurgical, bien en phase avec la pochette de l'album.

Techniquement parlant, prise de son nickel. Voix irréprochable. Le mixage demanderait juste un peu plus de subtilité.

Au final, un cd tout-à fait bien ficelé et homogène, que je place finalement dans mes favoris.
