Album description

"Side One" ('NO LOCATION') of the digital audio entertainment package, No Location + Dune Buggy

Includes the backing tracks to the song HERESY (Dune Buggy), and an instrumental version of Godz Eatz (title track to: Godz Eatz, the Movie; a sort of Godzilla picture for 'adults'), 'Godz Eatz (Irony Chef Mix)'.

The music ranges from an avant-rock sort of sound - think Zappa, including later Zappa such as Civilization Phaze III or The Yellow Shark - to a seemingly ambient, *Pure Space* electronic music approach, to something more jazz-like. Lotta drums, lotta percussion.

Lovely resonance to the beginning of the first track, into a selection of bursts of music in a loose structure. Very confident flourishes of music. I can see the Zappa connection straight away, HE was the king after all!-) Into a jazz/funk instrumental. Nice track. Abstrackshum a brief interlude of experimentalism. Mirage/Salt Lick, slowly and funky with wild distractions that slowly incorporate themselves into the musical adventure. St.Alfonso's Pancake Breakfast almost. It turns into a gentle array of noise and sound bites stitched together with some madness in mind surely, it's a work of genius!

HERESY grabs your attention by the scruff of the neck and shakes you into the Pink Pantheresque conjunction of musicality that this track is. Confident in its slow but sure strokes of string and skin and cymbal and keyboard. I'm all for it, heresy. And this track is mint. Abstraxiom 01 a typical Zappaesque foray into musical interest and jamming style. Nebulus-Elevade/Bild begins with deep synths, a wider horizon is at hand here, maybe something astronomical. Like the soundtrack to workers on some distant moon of some distant planet of some even more distant galaxy. And it seems that the outcome is good, a decent thing has been created. This track being one of them. Brilliant!

A Dark Matter comes to our attention, with beautiful sounds, loose rhythm. Twisted jazz maybe, with spaced out sound phases, just to confuse us more!-) Shipshaped-Traumpipe-Voyage-Horn is another interesting foray into experimentation that either confound the listener, or incites them into a strange, almost nervous excitement. One minute everything seems crazy and then suddenly you're right in the middle of a top track, and everything becomes a memory, a strange crazy memory... right? Skybed starts as a classic mini space adventure, just think it could've been twenty minutes longer.

What comes through eventually, is a undoubtable comparison to Zappa, even some of his much earlier works. To come even close to being truly comparable can only mean there is talent at hand. However, there is also a very powerful ability to get spaced out in a strong, almost newage way. Now, these shared talents either become separated and concentrate on works with a perspective, a concept, or, and it's a big 'or' it combines more subtly and becomes fused perfectly. Yin and Yang. Time, as always, will tell.
