I've got to that point in the album-a-month project (17 albums released thus far from April2007 to August 2008) where I'm thinking: this track would go great with this track, and so on. Before I knew it, I'd put together 9 previously recorded tracks from the albums TIDALWAVE, ACOUSTIC ARCADE, LONG LIVE LOVE, and LEGEND. The tracks knit together well, and I like that. They have a folk/country feel, some of my best lyrics and melodies, and more than anything they're very personal and emotional songs for me. They are a clear introduction to my acoustic/folk/country songwriting if you are unaware of my work, a clear introduction to my lasting art..
I've called the project DYLAN'S DEAD? It's a rhetorical question. It's a big nod of the head to the legend. Anyone who knows about me and my music, also knows I have a handful of music gods I pay regular homage to - Bob Dylan, Elliott Smith, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, and John Lennon.
