To be honest, I can hear a lot of various influences, though there is a sense of originality to it. Having said that, being the style that it is, it would be hard to avoid comparisons and the 'accusation' of sounding just like another artist. Even if that is the case, this is still a good album.
I like the name. I love the album artwork. However, I will reiterate that for me personally, I would have liked less vocals and more technology, but more than anything a distinct bite, which makes this somewhat mediocre. However, perhaps we are seeing a transition in motion. This is more rock than industrial and I wouldn't call it experimental, in my experience. Sadly, I feel it lets itself down a touch. (Which I hate to say!)
If I accept it as a simple rock album, it works more than well.
Then, BOOOM. Track six starts and balances out nicely. This is more like what I expect, so condense that formula that sets it apart and work that way, I say. So, in the end, I believe the album gets better as it goes along, or I become more enamoured of it. Perspectives! I liked it, but I didn't love it. I wanted to love it and I hope that I will be back and love the next one.
