Album description

Bonne écoute a tous.

Avalon nice piece and a relatively easy target for an angel's little arrows. It's where the heart of such soulfulness rests. The whole album is a nicely balanced and earnest effort to create beautiful music. Not quite the force of the likes of Dussek, Wagenseil or Krumpholtz, but it is of a different ilk. Traditional forms that predate even those impresarios. Here we are talking of the Celtic origins, and the artist captures that essence very well. However, I won't harp on about it just being dreamy. It is a wonderful instrument to listen to, and not an easy one to play well. There is here an assumption that it is all dreamy and misty, when there is a deeper passion to be discovered and conveyed, even within the Celtic realm. We are talking of a time when nature itself was a magical phenomena, little understood and so such music was more enhanced by it's beauty and majesty, and it's player in such times would more than likely be a traveller who relied on his instrument to earn his daily bread, if they were that lucky. A time when music was more integrated with the listener, who would be totally fascinated and overawed by such skill and deftness to create such sounds. Nowadays there is a threat that it becomes cheapened by commerciality, and less of an earnest form of art. Having said that, like I suggest the spirit in which this has been created is obvious, due mainly to the fact that there is variation and reverence paid to traditional pieces as well as more modern compositions. Thanks for sharing the beauty of a wonderful creative expression.

This is a beautiful album with a relaxing sound. It would be cool to listen to in a giant old castle, because That is what it makes me think of.

I cannot pick a favourite track because they are all great. The first song in particular makes me think of a warm sunny day though... it's the melody.

The sound quality is very natural... it doesn't sound "digitally enhanced" or artificially made into stereo, which I believe also contributes to the atmosphere.

To the author: Thanks!
