Album description

Since 2002 Spinefish, an indie gothic band from Russia, has developed its specific style and sound with abundant keys, versatile guitars and distinguished female vocals. Therefore, it was decided to rerecord some good old stuff as well as the new one in order to create a kind of the band’s renovated anthology. So after 5 years of research and experimentation Fool’s Paradise Revisited eventually saw the light marking an important step in the band’s biography. The album consists of 13 remarkable pieces of 2003-2007.

This is just soooo touching and beautiful work! A true fusion of so many different genres, and so very well performed!

Well, except maybe for the "Aeons" track, which seemed a little repetitive and unbalanced to me, but anyway - it's quite a chaotic and disturbing song, so it's probably intended to sound that way...

Other than that, this is a solid and well performed record. I've heard Spinefish before on Colours of Black V2 (a Russian dark-scene compilation CD) and it's very nice to see the band's style evolve in its own way :)

Thanks and kudos to you, guys, for sharing this (indeed) amazing release with the world! Cheers,

A fantastic, dreamy, touching and very artistic, album this is, feel the fantastic, vocals, and good solid lyrics, let alone music, carry you along and take you deep into the music, a very interesting, atmospheric, beautiful, indie, gothic, metal album, with a bunch of females for a change. Very professional sounding and artistic as well. Never a dull moment from start to finish.

Dark yet beautiful, this is an album that defies categorisation, can't pigeonhole this into any genre, just haunting, beautiful unique music. Lots of ambient moments, bits of rock albeit very soft, perhaps shades of Enya in places even, it takes you on a long voyage from start to finish, going to many different places along the way. It's quite soothing but at the same time has a dark tinge that never allows you complete comfort which only adds to the experience. A top album, hearing bands like Spinefish that you'd never hear through any commercial outlet is what makes Jamendo worthwhile.
