Silence is sexy, so make use of it

The songs are filled with constant dull roar of sound with little depth. Break away from the wall of sound a bit. Throw in some surprises. Flip the shit and then flip it back. Do something to hook me in! After listening, I got a sense that nothing was gained nothing was lost.

It sounds like the band is trying to do an imitation of coldplay doing an imitation of U2. The musical soul feels like its been watered down to the point to where there is no edge left (Get it? It's a pun)

Excuse my passive aggressiveness: Your playing is solid, the production shines, but I've heard your songs in an non-condensed soup form.

Everyone seems to be saying that they don't like it and knocking it. But honestly, I loved it. I thought it was extremely good especially this aint Hollywood. I think that all the critics need to realize that if they don't like pop then they aren't going to like this, which is fine. But don't say its a terrible album just because you don't like the genre.

I managed to get to the start of track 5 before I couldn't take anymore. I then went straight to track 7 because a reviewer said they liked it, but unfortunately it was more of the same, or worse because of the "wall of sound" guitar effect. Somehow I endured until the end, but no part of it appealed at all, and track 10 ended the misery on a really whiny note. Ouch.

I'm sure that this style of music has its fans, but I'm afraid I'm not one. This album gets classified firmly under "more non-memorable pop" for me, and I could have been more critical.

On top of that, the chord progressions are just boring or indistinct, and the dynamic range is really narrow, both of which contribute to very little of musical interest.

I'm afraid I can't give this album a good score.

I am in love with the whole album. A bit of a change compared to the so- called great bands like Coldplay, phenomenally better and definetely more original. YAY!

No spirit, no surprise, zero character. The songs, despite their unique melodies, have the same treatment and ultimately all sound like individual parts to one giant song.

Production is great and the music sounds professional. But the content is lacking character. Sorry guys...it's just not interesting to me.

Just Had to Respond to Such a Good Band Name

Hollywood would love you guys. This is a KROQ sound without a doubt. Do the Whiskey A-Go-Go on Freebee Mondays and have some fun. I kinda like the balance of as depressed as Radiohead but as hopeful as Coldplay... There's a form of Buddhism that believes after we die we go to a place where we get a perfect environment to work towards enlightenment... Name slips my mind. You're there. You've got all the comforts of a good sound and pop sensibilities and are just working on crossing that impossible barrier. What is it? I don't know and you are also sounding like you're not too worried about it, all the more chance to get there.

My New Favorite Album!

I love the ambiance of the album, sounds like coldplay with a harder edge. Lyrics are thought-provoking and reflect isolated situations in real life. Singer is clear, emotional, and energetic. Definately a 10 out of 10 for Silence is Sexy! Eagerly awaiting another album and tours!

Very mixed feelings

The first thing: This is one of the best produced and musically skillful records on jamendo. No doubt about that.
The second thing: It’s pop. Maybe they play guitars, maybe there’s some reverb or other distortion on their instruments. Perhaps the vocalist sings quite emotionally and empahatic. Nonetheless, it’s pop. Not a good news for me. It may not be particularly good news for other listeners as well.
The third thing: Although it is a mild version of Coldplay and Radiohead records, there is something uncomplete about the compositions. They all start smooth and neatly produced but suddenly, when it gets to chorus it’s just become to be boring. I’m afraid a serious lack of catchy choruses is to be a reason for that. Of course, not all tracks are that way. The best one on the album are Where Were You (with a nice keyboard touch that enriches the whole arrangement) and You Are A Mirror. Overall, however, it’s a little bit disappointing.
