Jenner Fusari has a potent talent, to create a piece of music that instantly fills all the gaps there are between the molecules. It is so wonderfully serene that it soaks up all the evil chaos and substrates it into shape, i.e. there is a sense of full control and it seems comprehensive. And, along with the ability to assimilate this abysmal necessity, the angelic lightness balances that which pertains to the dark in us. That is a pretty magical motion to make, and I'm still on the first track. Almost, one might say, omnipotent.
The second track, Fulcro Antagonistico, seems to describe a disparity in experience. What wonderfully complex webs we weave for ourselves, that become our own rich tapestry of life. In a world where some people are literally fighting to survive for a host of reasons. Perspectival but nonetheless real. When I was last studying, information technology was going to free the world, enable connections towards some sort of utopian technical fix to spread democracy and free the world of all war, famine etc.
A Bitch On A Birch is a foundation on a perch, the proposed solution to an inescapable fate. A lovely interesting track, that captures the seriousness of such a proposal. Personally, I think it's all about numbers and equilibrium, mathematical fatalism! Maybe madness, or a valid point of view. Brilliant track, lovely sense of movement.
10 Light Years From Earth echoes resounding, even in the void. Is it fleeing? Is it approaching? Is it just there? Recognition that a point in space and time can exist without us being there. No debate about whether trees make a noise when they fall and no one is there to hear it. Of course there are realities other than ours. Ones we possibly couldn't even comprehend. In space no one can hear you scream, or can they? Anyway, the track seems to be more about being, to me. Whether there is a distinct sense of direction is feasible, but arguable. Ten light years is a big distance for a big discussion and a suitably long track, to boot. Again, like I said at the beginning, the talent on offer is awesome. Very clean and confident, which are ideal conditions for experimentation.
What a wonderful start to a track! Lovely sounds abound at the beginning of Water Density To Wind Crystallization. It's acutally quite a daring rhythmic structure that staggers elegantly through its chrysalitic state to develop into a fine and subtle structure of life that can last but a few seconds in the hand of man. Time expands the idea of the track into a nicely protracted six and a half minutes or so, but it's still a moment in time, a drop in the ocean of sound that is this album. Beautiful.
Carezza di pietra, is long and languid, with a warm sense of comfort. Fantastic sound sculpting and control, and covers the distance admirably well, retaining interest all the way. Again, not afraid to throw things off kilter, because it always comes back tenfold in terms of quality and quantity. Excellent.
The next track, Gentilezza asincrona, is more rock orientated than all that has gone on before, but there is such a lovely blending of styles that overall (so far) all the genres are actually covered and I sometimes I dread seeing those lists. Sometimes I don't even know what they mean! Humble listener indeed!-) It is a lovely gentle piece of music, ideal for a Sunday morning. Well, this one anyway. Morning, that is.
Spremuta di ghisa. Gentle again, perhaps a little forlorn but still with a wonderful hold and control of the essence of the piece. Again, nice tight fusion. It's like having your cake and eating eat, brioche specifically, but let's not quibble. It works well as a track, ambience with percussion, a sprinkle of this and a sprinkle of that. A fine musical repast.
A fine, lilting start, a beautiful beginning. Then it flows into a beaten rivulet of sound on its way to the sea. Liuto al limone, is again well formed and is full of interesting moves. Full of lovely synthetic flourishes. The melody gets a bit frantic but the beat holds it in place superbly well. Lovely ending.
The final track, Il regno delle eliche, starts rather uncomfortably but it's a comparative epic, so there's a long way to go. Then a lovely grumbling rock formation flies overhead, and again I find myself amongst another selection of well fused sounds and strong construction. The opus magnum? All the tracks are, to their own degrees. Overall, an excellent album. Thanks for sharing.
