Album description

Five years after the completion of "The Scientific Method", Professor Kliq embarks on yet another endeavor focused on furthering and experimenting with newer and different ideas that he was previously unable to accomplish. Now, five years later, with a more refined understanding of the equipment he has as well as a beginning formal education in recording techniques and software, as well as music theory, the method follows yet another volume. With the goal of expanding on every style of music he has tried before, as well as some new ones, "The Scientific Method, Volume II: Experiments in Sound and Perspective" is the most current culmination of the Professor's musical and educational progress, as well as captures the perspective of his every day life.

Enjoy this album in its entirety, as it was designed to be listened to front to back, not unlike a film.

I've held back on writing this review for a long time. I was the first of 5 to hear this album in its completion, from beginning to end with no breaks. It was on a bad computer sound system, and it wasn't done justice.

After having a chance to listen to this CD straight through on a quality sound system, several times, I feel I am ready for a full-fledged, quality review and analysis of the record.

As the previous reviewer had touched on, this album isn't as "digestible" as his previous release. There is a lot going on at all times, most of which you may not even notice until the 10th spin in your CD player.

This is explained by his very forward thinking style of arranging his tracks. When listening to the CD straight through, I notice similar arrangement styles as Nine Inch Nails, The Mars Volta, and Cake. One thing these all have in common is that at first listen, your mind jumps in to overdrive because it hasn't heard or felt sounds like that before. It doesn't know what to do, and can't "digest" what its hearing. Much like The Downward Spiral or Deloused or Fashion Nugget though, pop this disc in a couple more times, and hear what you missed on the first spin or two.

Many electronic artists and DJ's alike combine good sounds or beats with others to make something even better and unique. Professor Kliq takes the sounds of everyday life and extracts the music from them, or finds a level of depth in instruments that just shouldn't exist. Songs like Pangea combine hard driving synth, happy pop casio style keyboard, grand piano, and who knows what else in a way that just shouldn't work, and I don't think anyone else could pull off.

This album is nothing short of a masterpiece and I am not exaggerating when I say it will take you on a journey of ups and downs and highs and lows. If you're scared... Listen to Ambition(track 8) to calm yourself down a bit, then pop of your Seinheizers, rewind to track 1, close your eyes, and prepare for a 66 minute ride that you won't forget.

I guess I should find something to critique... Well, on one of the last tracks, the wave form of the high hats tops off a bit. Just a bit. For about 2 seconds of the song. Maybe that part should have been -5db instead of -6db. :-)

I'm not a music expert so I wont talk in music speak. But if you're looking for awesome elecronic music, you've come to the right place.

Professor Kliq is a master musician and his material is top grade. Download it and listen to it with good headphones and you'll be blown away by the quality production and the journey it takes you on.

My only question to fans of this artist, is who else on Jamendo is in the same genre in terms of quality and style?

The Scientific Method, Volume II: Is a wonderful collection of upbeat Electronica and Ambience that rises above the usual muffled sounds to instead be heard rich powerful.
There exists a fair variety of style between and within songs, but the entire album can be played as one massive track for the best experience.

I guess I did this backwards, as I haven't yet listened to PK's other albums, but after hearing this one I can't wait to.

I started playing this through my headphones and by the start of the third track found myself completely locked in my chair unable to stop it even long enough to switch over to my speakers.

I can't agree with the others that this album was in any way "hard to digest". It certainly has a flavor that might make me want to call it "experimental music", but PK seems able drop a beat whenever he wants to and then clear the pallet and set up the next. Several of the tracks are quite strong on their own, without needing the rest of the album to build the mood.

I'll definitely be recommending this one to friends.

This album is undoubtetdy his most experimental one.
You still get the high quality beats, samples and electric salt served on a silver plate but with a certain twist:

Almost every song tickles you with another style, which makes "The Scientific Method, Volume II" a really nice trip through a undiscovered beat-landscape.

A bit like Amon Tobin but more synthetic.

People expecting a "round" and "easy digestible" album probably won't get what they want right away.
(My hint for those: try the other albums or maybe wait for Professors next big invention)

All in all this album is a great piece and makes me look forward to future works of Kliq's laboratory!

I really love this album, "Dream Sequence" is my favorite song.

very plausible

Not fan of the Blazin' guns, but with this album, this are coming together in an amazing way.

With a blend of good sounds, articulate rythms and musical sensibility, Kliq paints a great musical landscape I love listening to and listening again.

...one of the few albums that gave me goose bumps lately, especially with - Overhead -. On eof teh best album of the genre !

WOW! Too good to be true! Dubtastic! Me likey!!

I love the range of music on this album. Many artists in the electronic genre have a tendency to limit themselves, and much of their music ends up sounding all alike. Here, though, each track stands out as unique. I particularly like the use of noise as a tonal and/or rhythmic device, like the traffic in the background of "ambition" that makes a broody piano piece sound like it's being played on the shoulder of a highway. It gives an edgy feeling even to the most "normal" pieces.
