For an amateur progressive rock musician, he's good. There's some abruptness to the changups that can be disconcerting at times. But his use of dynamic range is excellent.
Sometimes his music has a definite direction and then the melody goes nowhere. If he kept up his major themes a bit longer, he would be awsome.
It's all still a bit experimental, but quite good for a second album. Pink Floyd took a half dozen albums before settling down; so I'll not be holding that against him.
I can't wait to hear his third album. It will probably be an 8 or better.
Some of his stuff just begs for lyrics.
Several weeks back I downloaded the newest album of one of my favorite bands. I was quite disappointed: the sound was so commercialized, nothing like their earlier works. Hardly worthy of the tag metal, listening to this new album made me doubt the creative future of the genre. But then...I stumbled upon this The Dreamer's Paradox...and I've listen to nothing else but it. I'm in love with metal again! The creativity of this artist is staggering. Thank you for this fresh breath of air.
I'm not the biggest fan of this genre, but this stuff was pretty amazing.
I have played this album and Universica over and over. It is simply brilliant. I detect Jordan Rudess, Dream Theatre, but mostly Flower Kings. The Elucidation track has striking similarities with "Life Will Kill You" from Flower King's Paradox Hotel album. Prehaps there is some significance in the album title?
Great work. Keep it up.
fell inlove with the first tune
earingly eroused by the second one
It's defenetly going in my SE mp3 player
This is a surprisingly good album!
It has pretty much everything in it, what you expect from a professional album! It has its slow, low, thinking moments, it has it's exciting parts... this is realy good!
A very powerful solid rock sound. Many influences but definitely going to be kept and listened to again and again!
This is by far my most favorite JT Bruce album yet for concentration, or just chilling out :)
