Album description

After four years in the making and recording in numerous locations and formats Illusion of Art is finally releasing its new double album "Aspirations to Fail and Disappoint." Released here is the first disc of the record. The first part of this record includes long, guitar-based, textured paintings such as "Trimorphic Protennoia," "Torture," and "Finnegan's Wake." "Finnegan's Wake" obviously has nothing to do with the traditional Irish song but is a joke on John Cage's lecture about the book. "And Now We Eclipse the Apocalypse" already had a following before its inclusion on this album with reports of people including it as ringtones and others declaring it their favorite song. "Because I Am Too Mediocre" is a song included just to irritate the listener and is not meant to be taken seriously. "When Will the Days End" is multi-layered vocal excursion in modern psychedelia and "Introspection" is a whimsical amalgam of guitar, Nintendo, C64, breakbeats, and private jokes. "Random Logic" is difficult to describe to anyone and "The Last Storm on Usher" is a combination electonic beats, beatboxing, atonal guitar, and Sprechesang. Ignore the adjective heavy nauseating liner notes and listen to this and Side A and B for whatever it is...or isn't.
