Album description

Universica represents a departure from the stylistic boundaries set up by JT Bruce's previous releases. The music retains a progressive sensibility while striving to create textures and ambiance that are truly unique. Each song bears the name of a star, evoking feelings of a journey through the cosmos.

The focus was on developing a thick atmosphere and very moody, emotional compositions. The use of dirty distortion and intentionally lo-fi sounds lends an almost industrial element to some of the tracks, whereas the extensive layering of synthetic and organic sounds gives an ethereal and space-like feel to other parts. There is a greater electronic presence in this album, used to thicken the mix and create a wall of evolving sound.

This is, without a doubt, one of the best albums I've ever listened to(and I've listened to quite a few). Truly one of the masterpieces of progressive rock. Every track is beautiful, and the album, as a whole, is quite intense. As a previous commenter said, you don't listen to this album so much as experience it. And what an experience it is - you owe it to yourself to download this, and when you do, listen to it all the way through, in a quiet place, with no distractions.

A whole-hearted 10/10 for Universica.

10 from me too, this is an amazing album, JT Bruce sets very high standards and never falls short, would be so easy to get something like this wrong but it's composed and executed brilliantly. It's one of those albums you experience rather than listen to, you don't get so much songs as soundscapes, painting a musical vision that keeps you transfixed for the whole duration. Epic, top notch stuff, a must have.

Another good album from J. T. Bruce, a
rock - progressive, metal, instrumental, electronic guitar, orchestral, heavy, electronic rock, album, that is instrumentally perfect, and fantastic to listen to and enjoy.

Your music is from other world. Really incredible songs, harmonic solos, awesome skills on the guitar.

Skillfully combines varied sounds and riffs to tell musical narratives, providing intriguing holistic music as an alternative to tasty instrumental pizzas.

Dreamer's Paradox really gets the mind going. And this one just establishes themes in your mind that, even though you may or may not have heard before, still sound strikingly familiar. Some superb examples of this would be Bellatrix and Rigel. And of course my favorite track by far is Capella!! Anyway, keep up the amazing work, and I am definitely looking forward to the next release!!!

I like everything. Great compositions, orchestrations and top notch techniques. Very enjoyable. I'm a real fan of this style of progressive instrumental rock.
