Album description

The long awaited sophomore project from Anthony Marcus. Anthony has taken an entire new approach and has embarked upon new directions. Where "Distant Lands" began, "Offline" continues and then progresses. Anthony has captured the dynamics of Rock, Metal, and Fusion guitar and have coupled them with self composed and arranged background music ranging from the basic "blues thump" to "Urban R&B and Ethnic grooves".

"Offline" has it all, and pretty much sets a new standard for Guitar Instrumental projects.

Good to hear a real instrumentalist

Well developed phrasing, thoughtful use of background tracks, and interesting use of rhythmic sounds to syncopate the drum tracks. I enjoyed "Spiritual Rain", "Love's Theory", and "Kim's Song" the best because of the overall song structure and mood, but the strong riffs on the other songs are interesting too. With an additional jazz-rock instrument (saxophone, jazz-organ, or electric-violin) these songs could really take off and soar. I hope other Jamendo listeners catch on soon; this is so much better than the repetitious techno stuff. My only critical remark would be that the rhythm guitar track on "My Blue World" sounds slightly out of tune with the lead; nice lead part though.
