Album description

Happens In A City

We started this album in late 2003 and it was completed in November 2006. We decided to add some lyrics and guitars, something that our previous album "Blue Trees, 7 miles" didn't have.

We believe that this album is more “mature” than the previous one and we are distributing it in Greece for free, with our own expenses.

We hope (and that’s our only hope) for you to enjoy listening our music.

Many thanks to GuitaReal for his beautiful guitar sounds and NoneShe for her divine voice.

P.S. In case you have trouble downloading the album, try this alternative

A downpour of noise, and it seems like trouble with the connections which develops into a ambient track, very peaceful. Halfway there is a lovely bit of bass, which then s(w)ings it way back into the track. Some nice touches. Morning Hey, Goodbye Day is instrumentally strong in itself, the vocals actually put the icing on the cake. Tasty!-) Then, All Back In Now, a quiet ambience to start, with a strong sense of melody. Suddenly it bursts into bloom to form a strong combination of musical sources. I think it works really well.

People comes over quite dark techno right from the word 'go'. The lyrics were Bowiesque, nice. Again, the backing track is solid foundation for the voice. Some fantastic effects played out well into a nice bit of fusion. Apathy To The Devil has a brilliant intro and turns into a mental track. As far as the Devil is concerned, this track is comparable, if not better than Orbital's Satan. It's truly wicked. Belong starts with a guitar riff, soon joined my lyrics and 'all the rest'. I'd say in fairly equal amounts it is blended thus rockier. Eclectic skillset evidence, methinks.

Then, Serious Acid. Is there any other kind? Lots of nice synth work and rhythm building to begin with, waiting for the beat and some voice samples. Some variations on the theme ensue and are found favourable to mine own ears. Stylistically, another arrow for thy quiver StrangeZero! Go Away Now, a short, pleasant acoustic guitar track with nice vocals. Antiseven and we are back with those wonderful synthetic noises and rhythms that are hammered out so well on the anvil of Jamendo. Ace track.

I Can Be An Angel has an aetheric, other-worldly feel straight away. Strings build a melody around this ambience, with the rush and movement of tacit presences. Then a mellow beat and rhythm to emphasise the vocals. Walking With Noneshe (Outro) is a lovely, almost peaceful track, a nice goodbye for a set of tracks. Thanks. Overall, I like this kind of progressive, fused music and being pleasantly entertained by the skill and imagination of this, and many other, artists on this site. Respect!

This album sounds like .... a must have!

I don't like electro music in general, rock is my favorite....but this one sounds pretty good. Lots of different "elements" inside the tracks, mixed in a nice way.

Cover is good....Black & White is almost always good.

This is very good. I really like the repressed energy of the album. I was waiting for it to explode but it never did, but that was good. Not sure how good this music would be live, but the cover was well done and fit the music well. Not the best lyrics, but they are good with the music. I got the impression the vocalist was not liking his voice much, but I thought he sounded good. Next album, more vocals. But the music is just as good without vocals.

This music is worth hearing! I am an indie maker & I utilized some of Strange Zero's music in two of my latest short films (non-profit) on You Tube. I feel that these artists should receive as much recognition & exposure as absolutely possible! In addition to being talented artists/musicians, they are exceptionally nice persons as well. One of my favorite songs on this album is "Walking with Noneshe (outro)".

Following a close listen to your latest album and ep i decided to listen to your old ones. This album seems different than the lesser and i agree that it captures the mood of loneliness in a city. It still paints such a dreamy scape where you can let your imagination fly.

My favorite track is all back in now which is just plain super cool psychedelic art. All your albums are burned to cd for my collection. Really, thank you so much for such a beautiful work.

as I have been going backwards I wasn't going to write another review but just can't help appreciate this album. though rock isn't my favorite genre this just has some rock-ish pieces at the start but as the album progresses it gets more and more electro with a slight dark feel to it. sooo sophisticated it is hard to say which track I like best but the darkness in 'apathy to the devil' is eerie and fits the decaying beauty in some ancient city scenery. then 'serious acid' is dance-y but with a trippy sublimeness rarely reached. 'Antiseven' is irresistible. I could go on and on. Please please put me on your fan list.

Nice work fellas. I like the mix of sounds you have and the diversity of your music. Each track is very original distinct. Keep up the great work! Everyone should download their albums!
