Album description

Celia Slattery, voice
Mark Shilansky, piano
Greg Holt, electric bass

Bamboo Bar, Seaglass and A Happy Ending by Celia Slattery.  Distant Thunder and a Cast of Characters by Celia Slattery and Mark Shilansky.  Arrangements by Mark Shilansky.

Both classic and a little off-beat, Celia Slattery's music blends pop, jazz, and folk-rock, with a dash of theatrical flair. Her expressive voice is framed by Mark Shilansky's sophisticated arrangements of both originals and covers by artists like Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. In live performance, Celia weaves her music with stories and humor to share perspectives on love, hope, and the state of the world.

A touch of class. The music was well played and at times very uncomplicated(including the buzzing of the bass strings). This all added to the artistry of the live performance. The live vocals were supurb, with I think touches of Joni Mitchell at times. Under studio settings with the engineers working their magic, I have do doubt the vocals would be stunning. A very enjoyable album. The audience were treated to a touch of class.
