Album description

Budo in giapponese può tradursi come "via del guerriero" o "via dell'arte marziale", dove via sta a significare un metodo un percorso interiore in linea con principi universali e naturali, mentre l'arte marziale rappresenta un mezzo per raggiungere equilibrio tra mente, corpo, spirito e benessere generale.

I brani sono veri e propri commenti sonori per eventi e dimostrazioni di Viet Vo Dao (arte marziale vietnamita); alcuni sono ideali tracce per esercizi di qi gong (attività per lo sviluppo delle energie psicofisiche).

Le musiche sono state realizzate tra il 2002 e il 2008, quindi saranno evidenti alcune differenze all'ascolto dovute ai cambi di tecnologia durante il trascorrere degli anni.

La produzione della compilation ha giovato enormemente delle capacità dell'amico Enzo Carlino che oltre ad essere coautore di alcuni brani (Budo, Budo2, EurAsia) ha realizzato delle stupende sonorità e timbri suggestivi con l'uso dei sintetizzatori.

Eugenio Valentini, quale eclettico chitarrista, si è sbizzarrito con chitarre classiche, elettriche ed acustiche in due dei brani più belli (EurAsia e Hard Training) componendo alcune azzeccate linee melodiche.

Spero che il lavoro vi piaccia...a presto su jamendo con altri tre dischi!!

Eastern and Western Music Fusion Influenced by the Martial Arts

'Budo', is a 13 track, Instrumental, Symphonic-Soundtrack, album.

Budo, is the Japanese word for "Martial Arts" and is translated as more typically as The Way of the Warrior and the songs in this reflect this a Abstract but Symphonic Manner.

Many of the tracks have a "Oriental" Sound but not distinctly Japanese. The Western style Symphonic Orchestration is sometimes more dominant in some tracks--less so in others but the overall effect is still very pleasing.

Track #1. 'Fall Training', starts the album on a Strong Note. An Asian Melody backed by Eastern styled Drum Cadences is nicely offset by a Native String Instrument and Woodwinds. The Soundtrack-esque Nature of the song is readily apparent but does not obfuscate the theme and is extremely well done.

Track #5. 'Kim Long', is a Magnificently Melodic Song. Chinese Flute, Percussion and a Koto-Like String Voice generate a Dramatic and 'Kung Fu-Karate Training Scene-Musical Landscape.

The remainder of the album is equally Resonant. This album is very similar to Targa's Newer work "Martial Training' but is not a copy and has its own Essence.

I felt like I was sitting right in the middle of the orchestra pit, when I closed my eyes, and just listened to this intricate music. I thought I could open my eyes and see the musicians right there. This sure is some nice music with a far eastern aspect and its epic quality gave the feel of being in a monumental film. Excellent in every way.
I especially loved "dragon and tiger" for its outstanding percussion. But each track was sensitive to its own story and so had its own unique sound.
Brilliantly composed and a phenominal album.

I am particularly happy about the percussion in this album. There is an occasional slip in the composition, but the end result is incredible enough to receive a 10.

Favourite track: Budo.
