Fantastic! Music as a carrier for political statements and standpoints, just the way I like them sometimes. Even of Horizon follows, plodding methodically, with gesticulations along the way. Nice track. Lends hope to what seems a hopeless situation in the world. Having said that, has there not always been an element, and we are just more aware of what goes on around us know that we are wired up and connected. Informed opinion is more rife, but also dangerously overwhelming with its content. Confusion sets in.
The third track is pensive introspection in a nice blend of musical sources, in a fine structure. Big issue, even in amongst a crowd, the sense of it potentially devastating all for a sense of lack of feeling and caring. Ball-Lux is a lovely ambient piece of music, simple and effectively soothing. Like a musical balm. Nice. QBist next, darker though still with a hint of what's gone on already before, like a development on a theme, another perspective of the same issue. The track blossoms synthetically and then reverts to its quieter, more solemn air.
Whispers, as might well be expected, is a relatively calm interlude mood. Followed by And Now, which is quite the opposite in effect, harder and more assertive. Almost an expression of frustrated anger to it. Gripping rock track. Voices continues the uprated sound with a strong assertive tribute to our personal daemons guiding us through the melee of life, according to how well we find our communication with our imaginative, projected selves.
Then, finally we end with A Lie, which seems to bring all the tracks together and consolidate the whole point of the album and what I've been beating around the bush of questions about. A lie can cause a little damage, or destroy the infrastructure of a whole nation. Just one lie and how many people, as a result, have to die, in order to justify that singular falsehood. What kind of leaders base their whole intimidation of another country on a lie. Unfortunately, it seems, the very ones we have in place in our supposedly wonderful capitalist democracy. Ace album in the pack of Jamendo. Thanks for being real.
