Album description

Violent Lullabies (and other songs for children)  is an album of alternate mixes of songs written and preformed by Disappearance of Anna, released December 29, 2008 on Jamendo. It is a good mix of dark techno and poppy industrial sound, much like Front 242, NIN, Skinny Puppy, Prodigy or Leather Strip.

“seen not said (leetch),” “haunting me,” “'M' (piano),” “stars are out (piano),” and “last (piano)” are all remixes of songs from their first full album, “the Brighter Side of Terror.” “seen not said (organic mix) and “letch (leech mix)” were first released as 2 separate tracks on the single “that which can be seen cannot be said (letch),” November 14, 2008.  “last (piano)” was originally released on the single “last in line,” July 22, 2008. “haunting me,” and “'M' (piano)” were mixed for this album.

“to the end,” and “asleep in the rain (acoustic instrumental)” were originally released on the single “in the garden of my mind” (June 30, 2007). “(unnamed)” was released originally on “last in line” (July 22, 2007).

“tomorrow never came (warm),” “necrosis,” and “all I want (is nothing mix)” are remixed of tracks from the upcoming “the Lost Part II” mixed for this album.

“absolution,” “Breathe (unspoken mix),” “nothing will come of this,” “the forgotten,” “one time,” “breathe,” and “geek drive” are all new mixes created for this album.

This is the second official full album release from the band.

Jason Curtiss wrote the original bass for “collectively silent,” and “letch” which became “haunting me” and “seen not said (leetch)” respectively. However, these bass parts were re-written by David Logan and David Williams after Curtiss left the band.

All lyrics were written by David Logan, the lyrics of “seen not said (leetch)” was re-organized and preformed by David Williams.  All other music was written and preformed by David Logan and David Williams. All other vocals are by David Logan. Art for this album was created by Sabrina Campagna - http://www.flickr.com/photos/mar1lyn84/2038575898/. Logo by -the Mourn. Recording was done at Kill the Puppy Records in Columbus, Ohio.

I like ambience of this whole generous thing. Both when it is darkish smoothly, easy going, well produced, with carefull selections of sounds and when it is more noisy pumping, treshy and with synths in sawtooth as in for exemple Necrosis.
Full of contrasts and suprises but still slylishly complete and compact this is one beauty of album.
Thanks for sharing this.
