A10 wonderful atmospheric reverberations abound, and create a delectable sound. Wechsler changes things, it is lighter, but no less profound and quite dark still. Nice tempo and subtle tonality. Well constructed in a minimalist way as it looms and recedes. Onenova is instantly stronger and bold in delivery, well-balanced and full of lovely sounds. Quite unique and distinctly stylistic. Then, you hit the Jackpot. Effervescent from the start and very buoyant. It is almost celebratory, as if you really have won something.
Addiction changes the tone completely, into a dark, forbidding world. Very shady in its atmosphere and stark with its construction and presentation. It is a harsh situation to be in, unless you are lucky enough to be addicted to something beneficial, though even then equally as unbalanced. However, I think that puts some wrongs to right and helps to attain equilibrium. Though it is generally regarded and experienced as a negative experience. Lost is almost a follow on conceptually, an addiction can do that to a person. Amphetamines for example, turn your brain into cobwebs and you can truly lose a sense of your own self, another sense of reality overcoming the real you, even if that is in itself a tenuous grip on reality. I tend to see drugs and alcohol only emphasising the real you anyway. Biologically, they are usually just keys to use up what's there already.
Then we finish with the end, in the form of the track Pleite, which can be variously translated but if we are to stick with what seems to be a conceptuality, we will go for broke. That being the ultimate outcome of getting lost in the grip of a negative addiction, which again, is something that can take many forms and meanings itself. The connotation is that damage is done, so I can only assume that it is a bad outcome. Beautifully captured in this extremely well constructed album of creative expression. Nice work, thanks for sharing the vision. Needs to be said.
Once again, melectric has put all the beeps and squelches just where they belong. This is great stuff. Both manic and scary, it pokes you right in the ear without trying to be too clever and random.
When I hit #4 (Jackpot) I realised I was really enjoying the album, although it fits really well into the context of the rest I guess it does have a steadier more obvious beat. If you want to get an idea for the variety have a listen to #7 (Pleite) too. It's like waking up on the table of an underwater operating theatre below an oil rig.
