Begi Suka! – Lauf, Du … ! ist die neue EP der trierer Russen-Ska-Spezialisten von „Ivan Ivanovich & The Kreml Krauts“.

Mit rasantem Tempo bekommt man eine gewaltige Brise karpatischen Balkan-Ska in das Trommelfell geblasen. Dabei mischen die Kreml Krauts Elemente von Folklore, Polka, Punk und Ska zu einer infernalen Tanzorgie.

In Liedern über Trinken, Alkohol und Wodka verarbeitet der russische John Doe seine traumatischen Erlebnisse aus den harten Wintern in der sibirischen Steppe.

Die bunte Truppe besticht durch ihre ungewöhnliche Besetzung. Das führende Akkordeon, die krächzende Geige und das posaunende Horn bilden zusammen mit einer stampfenden Rhythmusgruppe eine Synthese aus Vergangenheit, 80-er Jahre Punkbewegung und neuzeitlichem Gypsy-Rock.

Die Band setzt bei ihrer Musik auf neue Vertriebswege: Die EP kann kostenlos auf der Webseite der Band heruntergeladen werden und steht unter der Creative-Commence Lizenz.

Seit Januar 2010 gibt es "Begi Suka" im neuen Gewand: neu gemastert und in gepresster Form bei www.kreml-krauts.de.

I've come to appreciate the European version of ska that has emerged, blending classic Polka sensibilities with punk/ska aesthetic. The result are ska songs driven less by horns and more by accordions. Ivan and the Krauts are an excellent example of this genre. I particularly like "Velospied," but they're all solid songs. Not knowing what the Russian lyrics are saying, I'm somewhat limited in enjoying the songs, but they're still a solid entry.
