The album “Frammenti” by Cul de Sac is strongly linked to images.

Sometimes tracks try to describe precises situations, sometimes the author creates abstract atmospheres more properly experimental,as ricreational and spontaneous,as imperfect. Sometimes he tries to give musical life to short thoughts  or feelings.

The author flow through minimal and rarefied compositions using leit motives repeated insistently to extract and to know  all is possibile from the phrases.

Donations are accepted(obviously). They could mean, for the artists , the possiblity to continue his work, but I'm sure that you know that.

Good Listening

Here it seems from the outset another adventurer at the forefront of experimental music. I think that's what gives it the edge and the artist admits to making an express effort to convey meaning with melody. There are some lovely compositions here, very soulful and evocative of that reflective state of mind some of us can find ourselves in. Reverie, fugue, transcendent. I may not understand the language but can believe I feel sensations conveyed through this allocative form into my own sense of being and existence in this sometimes crazy world. That is affected by a host of variables at either end of the transmission but that is the inescapable essence of experimentalism. It is integral to life itself, evolution is one big experiment and Lord knows how many people have felt the urge to captures its various essences. From volumes of words, to volumes of music, to volumes of images and now we have this once so promising 'multi-media'. It's ubiquity I personally hold in question as being, sometimes, too overbearing on the senses. I have imagination enough to unfold the cerebral interaction with the beautiful music herein and an accompanying video can sometimes limit your experience. Having said that, done well, it does and should enhance the enjoyment, if not convey a particular message. Here I feel a calm passion blossoming elegantly with snapshots of emotion and life force. A far step from Boston methinks. Beautiful music for beautiful moments in your time and space. Enjoy!-)

'Cul De Sac', is a 11 track, Predominately Instrumental-(Primarily) Acoustic(or acoustics synthesized), Contemporary-Neo Classical-Experimental Crossover album.

This collection is highly eclectic in Style, Instrumentation and Themes although it is safe to say you will encounter copious quantities of Piano played with Forceful Vigor. And to a lesser degree--Acoustic Strings( Mandolin or similar and Violin) accompanied by Percussion(Non-Digital).

Musically, the music is similar to that of Artists who lived/worked in "The Village"-Greenwich Village section Manhattan, New York City, and experimented with Music esp during the 1950s to 1960s). In my opinion this album has a Retro Sound-Vibe, although such experimentation and artists are still hard at work in the area.

The closest example(s) I can think of to this music are the instrumental incidental sections of Broadway productions that feature Modern or Jazz Dance. Such music often has a "Odd" or even chaotic tone and this collections echoes the technique.

Incidentally, most of the tracks are quite brief so there is something of a "Demo" feeling to the songs at times. I suggest starting with the following tracks as an introduction to the album.

Track #7. 'A Ritroso' and Track #4. 'La Permura--{this work features a unique vocal arrangement} and Track #11. 'Epilogo'.

This album will be an acquired taste for some and others may not "Get It". Audition and discover for yourself.

This album seems to be very emotional i love the piano pieces in the songs, It seems to me that you are deep in your own little world when composing them. I also like the drum tracks as well and the way it all comes together in one big emotional roller coster. Keep up the good work. James

I liked the mixture of balance and being able to change the mood in the piece of music at a touch of a hat so to speak, this album has emotion, passion, hurt, darkness, it speaks to you from within the musical talent in each note of the music.
