OK, maybe it can be seen as retrograde. I do not see any problem with that. Are we to do away with all classical music with such a way of thinking? At the end of the day all music can be seen as derivative from some perspective, even the ground-breaking avant garde owes some tenuous allegience to that which has gone on before it. Without history and the opportunity to reflect upon it, where would we be evolutionarily? I quite like this, it has a sense of minimalism to it, and is actually quite pleasant. I was never one for dancing on tables anyway.
