I am fairly new to the whole Jamendo experience but am now ready to give my commercial CDs to the charity shop in favour of the wealth of refreshing talent I found here. I write this review for my favourite artist so far. I have never seen search versatility in a single album since the Wombles greatest hits (and I sincerely mean that as a compliment). Heifervescent show an incredible depth and breadth of musical talent in all tracks with an obvious ability to adapt to many different musical styles. There will be at least one track on this album for everbody, from the cynical 'Shopping for Religion' through the technically superb 'Billy comes Home' to the surreal 'Bomb'.

I cant pick a favourite as I change my mind with each listening.

All I can say is listen to it, you wont be disappointed.

The album starts with a uniquely styled funky pop track featuring wah-pedalled guitars and a quirky synthesizer riff. In general this is the most upbeat pop release by Heifervescent out of the four currently available, and it's a very enjoyable listen. I love the real-life lyrics on the last track about being glad to have a friend who is not so easily carried away by music. Highly talented performance and production.

I just finished listening to ALL your albums and I love them all. You guys are terrific. Really, you're just splendid to listen to.

Everything Andy Doran touches turns to gold. Check out all of his music. "Billy Comes Home" appears on my first online radio show and there is a full track review with it here: http://spencerwire.blogspot.com/2011/03/spencerwire-radio-first-edition.html

I really love this bands personality, first impression in 30 seconds were smiling a slight laugh. Great riffs, nice music! 10

I love the way this album was done. The mood, atmosphere that was like being in a spacey day dream relaxed state of grace. As the synthesized tweaked vocals started to sing. And the laid back, chilled to perfection music and aura of all. Kicked in and give me such a delightful poppy, indie, funky, feel great vibe and feelings to this one. And realistic down to earth lyrics. That where catchy and very cool. and made you want to sing along. and the songs started to become little anthems to me. Where I could picture myself learning the words offline. And when these songs start coming into my mind the feelings and melodies.

I have always preferred British music to American music. This album does not change that opinion at all. I like this and now I am pondering as to why these people aren't famous yet.

I found myself smiling and tapping out a beat on my desk top - bloody bwilliant. Friend for Life was such a glorious song to finish on. Great mix of styles - think of all your best 60's to 80's pop bands. Great hooks and well crafted - with some lovely layers.
Thought:
Drumming was spot on in this album but I would change the drumming sound (not drummer) for your next album.
