Album description

VERTIGO is a pure and deep atmospheric & experimental soundscapes music, dedicaced to International Year of Astronomy 2009.

"Marqué par l'ambient atmosphérique de Steve Roach ou Max Corbacho, ce nouvel opus de David n'en est pas moins personnel, une belle suite qu'il offre à The Gate Of Silence, toute en finesse, douceur et sensibilité. Quelques rares notes mélodieuses, lointaines et nostalgiques, font une probable révérence aux Quiet Life qui se perdent en vertige dans nos mémoires." - Bernard REEB

Nice, very atmospheric. A trip to relax land. Deep resonances, drones and slow soft, drawn out notes. All tracks are very floaty and similar so no surprises. It is kind of like comparing green stripes on wall paper (to compare the songs). How many kinds are there and which are the best? How picky can we get. Or is there any real way to describe this type of music? What was it created for and why does it exist? Its all good. And it works as advertised.

awesome as all davids albums...vol 1 2 3 's better than this but this ones more atmospheric...so if youre the type go for it!

I adore suite-like lengthy tracks which seem to go on for ever - rush in such instances is the foe - the story simply has to unravel slowly, really slowly.
And yet again, just as I reviewd SaReGaMa's "Bodhi Tree" track - I sense the spirit of Steve Roach - hope David does not mind that association.

spacy deep drony ambient tracks.
very good stuff

Into outer space at the speed of light. That we do not feel or even understand how it can happen. At such a gentle pace and to cover such distantness at that, in such a short space of time. Into other galaxies, another time and other places. We pass and see, so many stars, planets and Universes on our way. The peace, the solitude. The calmness, the tranquility, the smoothness and grace of it all. Is powerful and hypnotic and like a day dream state you are fulfilled and blessed. It is truly breathtaking and mediative. We decided to land on Planet Apolisa . Where the harmony of a nice welcoming from this planet greets us on our arrival, with a very nice chilled atmosphere. A trip to relaxation and a day dream land. We have land on. Deep soft comforting resonances, droning and slowly soft, movements from us,and the impeccable peace and quiet all around us. As we explore and survey our new paradise. To which makes us smile and giggle and truly savour all. Drawn out threads of time passes as we bask in heavens glory of Apolisa. Where time does not matter or truly exist.

I love it. If your looking for melody, turn around and explore other albums.
But if your searching an atmosphere that grasps you and still holds you after the album is played, load this one into your listening weapon of choice, kick back, and let the magic unfold...

Some tracks have a certain "buildup" of resonance of the very deep tones though, so beware your "loudness settings".
