Odd? Maybe. Great fun? Definitely!

Wow. When I first saw the cover of Röntgenschall's Hot & Wunderbar I thought the 118 118 guys had recorded an album. But don't let the moustaches fool you - this is a great listen. You could say that it's a bit of a mix of Franz Ferdinand and Gogol Bordello. It's art rock meets gypsy punk. Or maybe I'm just completely off the mark here. According to their wiki entry on last.fm the band calls it 'Wicked German Moustache Rock'. I guess that's fitting.

And what sets Röntgenschall apart from other bands is that they play all over the world without leaving Germany. Yup, they play on your website or blog. That's if the fan club members think you're worthy and vote you as one of the coolest fans. Their songs are Internet related as well. Like falling in love with Kincky Carmen from spam emails. Or Your Glamorous Life which is dedicated to bloggers. Nuts. In a good way.

OK, I'm off now to join their fan club and maybe I'll get a gig for my blog.

...all I know is it does. For me at least. Amped up polka played by guys with fake moustaches? By all accounts, it should be terrible, but somehow it bucks the odds. Sort of reminds me of Kaizers Orchestra with a sense of humor. Look for something off of this to make the next episode of my podcast at thinsafetypin.com
