Description

Smoky Jazz Dub
is a journey, its a story of a single night...

(after hours) you are out late drinking your troubles away in a sleezy jazz bar, you find yourself chatting with someone. You're both happy of the company.

(back for coffee) Time passes and you decide to go back to their place for a coffee. Things get laid back, chilled out and physical.

(shuffle) Soon passions rise, things get heated and the night begins.......

(countdown) its much later, things are calm again, you both drift in and out of consciousness in each others arms, exhausted, yet vaguely thoughtful of the night that's almost finished.

(good bye and so long) ..... morning comes, its time to face reality, you can stay and face the awkwardness or you can quietly get dressed and leave. You decide on the latter, you leave a little note - good bye and so long x

I'm glad I read this album description before the music started...! It placed the context of the music and it was very cool!

It is a very subtle and sophisticated experience :-)

cheers!

If you'd gather in one track all Jazz related components of this album it still wouldn't be enough to call it so, as well to Dub it's realted very loosely. However a cool lounge music can be found in this compilation, and you're invited to light a cigarette to make it smoky :)

The first track is the best one, it's built right, the length is good - not too long and not too short, just what is needed to put you in the mood. That synth trumpet was good too. 9 points

Second track has a nice groove but there are some problems with levels and the drums sound weak and remote due to the unsuccessfully chosen flanger effect. 6 points

Third is a cool Club Jazz track. 9 points.

The last track starts like a nice ambient but goes astray and gets spoiled by some futile improvisation on keyboard... and then it stops. I think sometimes it's better to keep tracks like this out, in order not to spoil a good impression made by the other tracks. 5 points

BTW, what happened to "Coutdown"?

cool stuff !

I would like to ask you some questions about it, please contact me

This album has a smooth flow to it. I particularly enjoyed "After Hours" and "Back for Coffee". All four tracks are well done. The only problem I encountered, and it may have been a technical issue, the bass seemed to over power the rest of the music at times. That being said the album is a great listen.
