Album description

Smoky Jazz Dub
is a journey, its a story of a single night...

(after hours) you are out late drinking your troubles away in a sleezy jazz bar, you find yourself chatting with someone. You're both happy of the company.

(back for coffee) Time passes and you decide to go back to their place for a coffee. Things get laid back, chilled out and physical.

(shuffle) Soon passions rise, things get heated and the night begins.......

(countdown) its much later, things are calm again, you both drift in and out of consciousness in each others arms, exhausted, yet vaguely thoughtful of the night that's almost finished.

(good bye and so long) ..... morning comes, its time to face reality, you can stay and face the awkwardness or you can quietly get dressed and leave. You decide on the latter, you leave a little note - good bye and so long x

I found this album even though I did NOT read the album notes - I was searching for smoky jazz and lo! Here it is.

I inserted these four kicking tracks as the sound bed to my podcast. They work beautifully. They're spirited, energetic and evocative. I've already downloaded Sion's other albums and will give them a listen quite soon.

Warm jazz, takes you back to that nice place, with the slow pace, and the smiling faces, the great tunes, mesmerizing beats, dark and smoky ambience, and oh how you wanted that night to last forever . . . "After Hours."

Cooler jazzy. . . beautiful ambient, "Back for Coffee." A little more reflective and peaceful and a beat with a tiny edginess to offset that mellow chill.

Laid back calm yet a nice chillout tune came alive in "Shuffle." "Goodbye and so Long" was mysterious and ambient gently waking up and becoming slightly jazzy and at the end, left the room . . .

Well produced, good feel for the genre. Afterhours is a really good track, dark & smokey & deep with a nice phat groove rolling along behind it. Going to enjoy a few good listens. Respect and Thanks PJR
