You always come up with a variation of a common theme i.e. the electronization of a classical piece. Here again we have a well known example of the classical art but interpreted with a modern, and at times, unusual way.
The piece starts slowly, certainly the tempo sounds slower than the normal classical recordings do. It does take time to get itself going and become its own. We then get some fine natural sound effects and swirling stereo added to the mix, which gives this particular interpretation a life of its own. Different from the original scoring, different from much of the performers other classical interpretations but still retaining an overall original familiarity to both Greig and himself.
I do have one request, how about a modernisation of "Nimrod" from the Enigma Variations by Elgar? I have heard many electronic attempts at this piece but so far none has "hit the spot".
Up for the challenge?
