Computer Standingby actually has a threatening aspect to it. Technology as the enemy, not the saviour as is often thought. There was a strong belief in the technical fix some years back and this still seems to be the 'solution', if only to relieve the boredom of a life better spent elsewhere. The one benefit that actually now threatens the status quo, is the improvement in communication. People all over the world can now unite in efforts to achieve great things, when the Internet was designed by the US military to ensure a constant communication link in time of a profound war scenario.

The second track, is a state of mind that I have occasion to suffer from but apparently I'm better now. I've just been asked to pass on a pro-military email to all my friends that supports the war effort in Afghanistan. To support the slaughter of innocents including men, women, children, young and old. To support the use of depleted uranium shells. To support families of dead soldiers suing the British government because their relatives, soldiers were killed or injured in war. What were they expecting? To be part of some video game? War is depersonalised until it actually effects you, then people don't like it so much. And people wonder why I get psychotic!

Scream It epitomises that very state of mind, nobody will listen unless I scream it quite literally, and then I'm the villain of the piece for voicing myself in such a profound manner. Get that! How come it's always my fault? A. H. ist Noch Lebendig can only refer to one person, long gone, but never forgotten. Is he really still alive, like Sadaam? Didn't see it on millions of website and hand-held phones, with people gloating over it, so it didn't really happen. He didn't take his own life because he couldn't live with the consequences of his vile actions? Possibly living somewhere in South America preparing the final part of His Struggle.

Information Is Dead. Interesting. There's a lot of it, so it's certainly overwhelming and that renders it effectively dead, because there is such an overabundance who can compute all that is offered. HAL9000 WAS reliable, even in its fictional setting, so apart from the techgnosis proferred by the Internet gaining a sense of its own self-consciousness and actually taking over, we individuals gain little opportunity to assimilate all that information and turn it into useful knowledge, let alone wisdom. Most IT users at home are too busy playing Bingo or putting pictures of their various body parts on some website for the world to lust over. So much for technology!

The Human Error speaks volumes, everything is attributable to human error. Friendly fire for instance, is distanced by blaming the technology, but it's humans that are pulling the trigger. I once asked a university lecture hall if I battered somebody to death with a computer would it be a virtual crime? They didn't know what to say, another sad story of my life. How long before the major conglomerates of business are charging you copyright royalties for memorising a tune in your head, and then probably charging you for the pleasure of extracting that information from your brain with technology they probably are working on right now, if it doesn't already exist. To paraphrase Shakespeare, to be human is to err. And even that's not on the side of caution.

Born In Chains (remix) reminds me of the story of Prometheus, bound to the rock to be pecked at by carrion birds for giving humans the power to make fire. In a sense, so many off us are bound to rocks, albeit metaphorically and most often of our own making. A suitable epitaph for the human race itself. Nice work. The And One instrumental cover of Military Fashion Show, makes me think of parades of expensive hardware being shown off, and the pride of our nuclear strike capability, when I live in a country where I can't even get my teeth fixed. Explain that, when I'm sat in one of the most cossetted countries in this inane world. So much for democratic capitalism. I can get credit from some government bolstered company but I cannot afford to go to the dentist. Correct me if I'm wrong, but what happened to priorities? Nice electronica, very provocative, just how I like it!-)
