Album description

In Abscondo's second acoustic solo release, this lyrically-driven work deals with life's temporary, oftentimes competing and conflicting stages.  The album is a celebration of the unavoidable reality that life is a process and ought not be viewed merely in terms of what we accomplish, who we become, or who we are with.

Like the 2008 release, Midnight Snow, the album is rich with his melancholic, comforting sound.

"You want this lifestyle to last forever
When you can't even stand today
You see fears where I see colors
Don't live a life a day away"

I like this. Evocative.

When it comes to this CD, it should end up in the limelight of Jamendo.

Abscondo's CD Stages touches society's demeanor, our own feelings and situations, even the traps we easily, often unconsciously, fall into.

Lunch Date is a nice vigorous song. Though, the best song of the album is definitely Forbidden Curiosities with its quintessential melancholic twist that is recognizable throughout songs from previous album - Midnight Snow. In that sense I felt it was kind of a reverberation of Midnight Snow. Scent of Youth and Consciousness are stars of the album, too.
The album is consistent, very visual with best lyrics. I was only surprised about the last song, Insecurities, that could have seized its own potential and be more resounding. Lyrics are overwhelming as always, though.
Otherwise it's the second album by Abscondo that I love to wallow in.

I appreciated artist's attitude of explaining the meanings of songs in his video commentary. I'd say that's what should be part of every CD in contemporary world of music.

I highly recommend this album as well as the previous one to compare how much an artist can develop in a year. Bows to the artist and thanks for sharing this on Jamendo.
