"shoegazer" is the name of genre - because it is magical and hypnotic in beautiful deep ways - it's kind of anti-pop to be this psychedelic -

Psychedelic simply means "heightened psychic communication" *sigh* ...pardon me... oh sorry, I was just in a fond reverie -

A big step

This is quite a progression from the last full-length release from Psilodigm. I notice in particular, the rhythm tracks have had a lot more time and attention spent on them - And it's paid off in spades.

Track 1 reminds me very much of New Yorkers INTERPOL, and works on a steady, circulating loop.

Track 2, for me is the more interesting, however. It starts along the lines of THE POSTAL SERVICE, before launching into an all out grindfest, reminiscent of CARCASS, strangely enough. It's a combination of sounds that works however - and this all bodes extremely well for the next Psilodigm full length. I look forward to hearing it.

Just Chillin' is just that, very laid back with some nice tonality and mild progression. Just right for the mood. Maya a nice experiment in instrumentality, still quite soothing and then the guitar kicks in and rocks nicely. Sound development as it drops off then rebuilds, with that little lick of technology to set it off, before it starts rocking again. Nice comparative piece against the downtempo first track, and I like the stereo play, works well. Then, really gets down to business at the end, saving all the energy for the last blast.
