Album description

From bebop to jazz-rock and fusion, this album is a collection of tributes to the musicians of yesterday and today who have had influence on me, either musically, personnally or both. The homage starts with the cover that evokes one of the greatest jazz discs of all time.

The titles are presented in a chronological order, from bebop and the 50s to more modern rythms inspired by the jazz-rock of the 70s with a little intrusion in Latin jazz.

The strange boat is jazz itself, and its strange cargo is the collection of all the styles and kinds of music it has inspired or that have been inspired by it. The strange boat is also man - either composer, interpret, performer or listener, whose life too is a strange cargo.

Underground in London is dedicated to the memory of Jean Charles de Menezes killed "by error" by the London police force in July 2005 only because of his tone of skin.

This LP is also a seasonal album that goes from Springtime into Summer. From the Spring blooming "madness" of bop unto the heart of Summer, evoked by the quietness of peaceful innocence and the torpor tinted with nostalgy of Brazilian rythms. In its midst, of course, the Eternal Season, right in the middle of the album too, is played by the flute. It represents the Summer equinox and the singing god Pan.

Now it's your turn to find all the tributes and throwbacks to the different artists evoked in this album!

The album can be downloaded in Cd quality on RVGMusic.

It's strange that the way I got to discover your creations was by following the path of a critical comment you gave on somebody's works. I thought you had good reasons since you "dared" to criticize something everybody was fond of. In fact, this is all a matter of reflecting your own self through music. Your music is inspiring me, I can get freely carried away and I can expand my interior world to a space without limits.

Very good ! Nice how it progresses through the styles but still maintains its own sound. Peaceful Innocence is absolutely beautiful and feels like one of those great Bill Evans pieces. Another favorite spot is the sax solo in Never Ending Moons. !! I look forward to checking out your other albums !
