Album description

THE CALLING is Wright’s 26th studio album in 26th months, and forms part of Wright's on-going love affair to create lasting art in quality as well as quantity. Released May 2009, THE CALLING features 12 new acoustic songs with blues, folk, and country echoes. It also signals a softer, more peaceful vocal syle from Wright, comparable with Iron and Wine, Nick Drake, and Elliott Smith. THE CALLING features the song “Trust” co-written with Reine Amodeo. www.seantwright.com

Now and again, a perfect album appears. THE CALLING is it! Not since Brad Sucks have I heard such a complete artist as Sean Wright. Everything is right and correct. The songs, melodies, arrangements, hooks, blended vox, and most of all: the lushness of production, the soft, soft tones and poetic lyrics! More of this style Sean please! Bravo! Encore!

great Voice, crisp mix with crystal clear guitars and percussion. Like the songs, I can hear that there is soul and heart in them. Perfect !

An amazingly beautiful album, from song-writing to vocal styling, to delivery. Stunned!

Now this album is the Biz for so many cool reasons. Top arrangements, instruments placed wonderfully in mix, rhythm/percussions vital and bold. Love the vocal doubling and acoustic treatment. Impressed!

really nice, comes in the soul

His voice has a pleasingly earthy quality, and there is some fine acoustic guitar picking here. 'Trust' is my favourite song: it's the most evocative in my opinion, I like the minor 7th chord that reappears throughout the song, and his singing is at its most expressive on that cut.

Such a brilliant albumfrom the opening track to the last. Naked Shoulders, Sacred, Little Bird, and The Calling standout for me as exceptional songs, in both lyrics, delivery, and melody. Awesome album from Mr Wright.

this is soft folk rock at its very best. i dig the low key vocals, the wonderful control, and then the explosion on tracks like TRUST and SOUL FULL OF LOVE. Beautiful album all round, great playing, singing, and words. Very comparible to Iron and Wine or Elliott Smith.

I think it's well done, deep dark vocals, nice guitar's tunes, relaxing
