This is an album that needs to be heard, black/folk metal is nothing new but Heinrichreich bring out the best elements of both black metal and folk metal to produce something that is truly their own.
The album screams passion from start to finish, it's lively, upbeat, yet raw and incredibly ferocious, the vocals alone are some of the most fierce I've ever heard, the mic must have been splattered with blood after they'd finished recording! Guitar sound is varied and diverse, a number of different styles being employed, ranging from a furious black metal assault, or in places Finntroll-esque type riffs, or sometimes a colder, slower BM style, but the variety and quality is consistently good and the keyboards and folk instruments work well alongside.
This is definitely an album with two distinct aspects, you'll get neither a raw, cold black metal album nor an album of jolly drinking metal, instead the two aspects sit alongside and offset each other, each pulling away from the other so the music never quite fits into any camp, instead occupying a unique space in between.
So yeah, once again we have an album of Jamendo that exceeds the efforts of many commercial bands, definitely worth a listen and will look forward to hearing more from this band. You need to hear this!
