Indeed, this is a masterpiece. Intense, diverse, aggressive, silence, soothing, all those of characteristics important for me. I don`t know how much actually Uberlulu has listened to Big City Orchestra and influenced by it, but yes, this similarity between them will be clarified by my side. All those wide-range experiments with noise, drone, avant-garde electronics, ambient, psychoacoustic, freeform freak sounds, anti-pop acts etc are very impressive.

I somehow find myself approaching this album with some sense of trepidation, and I am not sure why. O.C.B. I like the structure, but makes me feel like asking what is going on? The second track, I love. I don't know who Boudin is, but it is a fairly frantic, and nicely dynamic piece. Modernity, as if things never change. What did happen to detraditionalization? Again, quite forceful. Almost aggressive in tone, in places. I can associate with that sense of disappointment. A classic Uberlulu sound. Concerto en doigt majeur, a finely aimed digit perhaps? J.L.P.S. Capilophage is quite a dark atmosphere, nicely done, just dark. Sort of messy in a way, though difficult to explain why. Some of the sounds connote a feast of some sort, a sense of gluttony, though like I said in a dark manner. Almost as if it should not be eaten. Taboo food, perhaps?

Festival Païen appears to harken to a primevalism. Again, quite shadowy. Either way, I quite like the structuring of it and some of the sound manipulation is well done. Almost hypnotic in places. Strangely alluring. l'Essence Giratoire, an ephemeral drifting track, like a curious aroma passing by dilated nostrils. Masquerade 1 just melts in the mouth, which is nice and I like it, but it gives me migraines due to allergic reaction. Danser sur les Mercos, a brief statement of something beyond my means, an interlude. Perdre le sens, has a familiar ring to it, though not in a musical sense, more in a sensual sense, as in something that I have experienced rather than listened to as such. Quite peculiar. It all seems to be slowly adding up.

I cannot help but think of Tour de France, with De Paris à Vélo. I understand enough and like the take on what has almost become a synonymous association. Like an anti-song. Masquarade 2 : Le Fondu Message, now throws me off the scent. It almost seems out of place, but not at the same time. Somewhat paradoxical, I am trying to analyse something beyond my comprehension, I think. The following track, brings things back together. De l'importance d'un bon mortier, is more like the Uberlulu I believed I knew, though this album has catalysed a confused configurement in my mind. I find it difficult to express what I mean. As a track, I quite like it. Sacrifier le veau avec un marteau dans une usine de tourne-vis désacectée, again returns me to a sense of feeling disturbed. I used to live next to a slaughterhouse and this evokes a similar sensation. Part of me has to accept it, almost as a necessity, though another part cannot assimilate the noisescape. Quite perplexing. Then, a lightness besets me. Masquerade 3 : Tomber le Masque, is like the light shining on what I am subconsciously trying to figure and revealing all, then vexing me with not being able to understand the words in motion. Again, more like the Uberlulu I am used to.

l'Un Que l'Autre, from my ability to translate seems to be a contradiction in miniature. Like reading Bataille or Darrieusecq (though I prefer the realism of Zola or Balzac). Je Vais, again seems back to normality. Though I am still linguistically at a loss, the feel is more acceptable to my instinctive side. Though the subliminal message seems to fade as the track progresses or digresses, whichever. I'm not sure. BBN 170517 seems like an administrative standard. Just reminds me of a brief spell as an auditor for, of all things, a sewerage company. As far as Acid Trash Test, I have tested it and it has left its mark, as all tests are wont to do. I like it, nice and light. Finally, Tout est n'importe quoi, presents me with a lengthy tautological statement, that sews it all up loosely. In English we call it 'tacking', big, rough stitches used to position material ready for the real embroidery. So, after all this listening, I still feel like I am at a loose end somehow.
