It was like setting foot in Africa and hearing the sights and sounds of everything around you, that is basically Africa in general. The tribal, yet jazzy music and interesting vocals, that are hypnotic, compelling, really interesting and thought provoking,Mixed to perfect as you listen and you take on board all. With aspects of contemporary, modern music and slight touches of traditional music as well in the pot heard.Very emotional, heartfelt and magical sound-scape of awe, wonderment and fascination on a bed of elegantly put together musical expression heard. Which even includes classical musical and the horn or trumpet as well.
"Patagonia Indian song" - intrigued me immediately with this beautiful voice chanting, singing; dramatically telling his story with rising interest and intensity. He was accompanied by the drums, flute and a wonderful synthetic layer which did not intrude but enhanced the musician in this piece.
"Andes Song" - A gorgeous piano complying with the ethnic wind instrument which gave a plaintive layer to this piece. Just lovely!
"Wind Voice" - Captures the butterfly in your chest and sends you up to a lovely mountain side with clear blue sky. I loved the jazzy piano dancing, weaving in and out. This one is a gem and probably my favorite. The flute and the piano enhance each other so outstandingly, with great beauty and grace. I can't get over how gorgeous this tune is!
"Vidala" - An organ intro! The organ is not my favorite instrument but lends emphasis and mystery to a tune. The ethnic percussion enters while the organ backs off and does not abuse his relationship with the drums, strings, or vocals which arrive later in the tune. I really loved the melodic voice in this piece. It came much later in the track and was really worth the wait. The sound layers here were blended quite well, I thought, and the effect is quite enjoyable
The contemporary jazz is a lovely frame around the picture of the South American ethnic tunes. I think it is less of a fusion and more of a sublime enhancer. How can we meet, around this great world and enhance each other's art? Well, this album will show the way!
This album is an outstanding work of art and I think it should be on the top of the charts!
Two musicians, two worlds meet. A perfect synthesis by a strong ethnic side of the flute, the other a piano cultured and refined that collects and processes. The result is an excellent album.
An awesome piece of work, tastefully fusing elements of traditional South American influences with contemporary instrumentation and jazz. Emotional and heartfelt music.
