Album description

The first release from my newest solo project Returning We Hear the Larks. The E.P. consists of two instrumental demos: 'Langemark', which will be appearing on the full-length album Ypres when it is released, and 'Like Lambs', a song that will not be making the final cut.

This E.P. is, as the full-length will be, an homage to the millions of heroes who died fighting for us in the First World War. 'To remember and learn from past mistakes is half the battle'.

Langemark is a village in the Belgian province of West-Flanders, and a bough of the municipality of Langemark-Poelkapelle. The village has about 5000 inhabitants. Besides the village centre, there are also two smaller hamlets on the territory, Madonna and Sint-Juliaan.

Written as Langemarck on French and British maps, the village is known in military history as the scene of the first gas attacks by the German army, which marked the beginning of the Second Battle of Ypres in April 1915. The village was completely destroyed during World War I. There is now a major German war cemetery, the Langemark German war cemetery, (Soldatenfriedhof) in this location which has about 40,000 burials.

What an outstanding track and brilliant master piece to honour and pay respect, but most of all a reminder to never to forget those who died in war times.Like these people who died in Langemark during the war above. profound, heartfelt, disturbing and true real life ,this awesome track makes you think, that, heartfelt, heavy metal music that is raw, powerful, dramatic, deathcore sounding as well, and that very honest and open old man talking about his experience, he had during that time, makes you think how lucky you are to be alive and to make you realize life is not always a bed of roses so to speak.. harsh realities of life have happen and do still exist...

And Like Lambs, says it all, what happens on the killing fields...
