Album description

The art of the War is not an album with moralist and even less religious vocation; it doesn't have as an ambition to inflict the least judgement on some idea than it is. Thus should not be seen there a political character, because this album is it more neither nor less than any apolitical work.

The art of the War is not either an attempt at illustration of some war that it is. One shouldn't seek philosophical references there, in Machiavel for example, or in Sun Tzu. It would be completely inappropriate.

The art of the War is anything else only an album of music.

The path of the Righteous Man is beset one all sides
By the inequities of the Selfish, and the tyranny of Evil Men
Blessed is He, who in the name of Charity and Goodwill
Sheperds the Weak through the Valley of Darkness
For He is truly his Brother' S Keeper And the finder of Lost Children
And I will strike down upon thee
With Great Revenge and Furious Anger
Those who attempt to poison and destroy my Brothers
And you will know, my Name is The Lord
When I lay my Vengeance upon thee

If your goal was to cause a listener hard time you did it big time.
I wasn't able to listen to this album thoroughly - I started filling woozy, so I can't realy give marks here. Excelent soundwork BTW.

If you're prepared to try something different to broaden your musical horizons then give this a go. Unusual, different, and enjoyable. Not for everyone, however

A sort of Deja Vu: Another surprisingly great French artist and another case of an album I didn't like at first replay, but after seasoning two years in the depths of desk drawer I've suddenly rediscovered it. And this was wise from my side, because I've recognized some unusual qualities. I've expected something like Grace Valhalla, but The Art of War is bit more aggressive and experimental than Grace's albums. The ten songs are arranged along ten verses of a famous Jules's quote from Pulp fiction (which he names “Ezekiel 17:25”). Just from the first sound in prophets we sink into great experimental sound carpets. No two pieces on this record are alike, this is a great mixture of different sounds and arranges -- but in the same mood. My favourites? nnosense(3) and campaign(6). Overall: great experiment on sound, maybe not as radical and nonconformist as Matmos, but definitely not a single-use pulp the commercial radio tries to feed us. I give eight stars: [++++++++--] -- A must-have on Your shelve.

I feel something like a mistique feeling on listening this music! Every sound is really original. And melody is very advance! Also feel something like a world music although its totally electric voice! Really amazing music i think!! Someone who made it really genious!!

Thanks!

Some thoughts...

* Nice repetition and sound.
* Some tracks sound too disoriented to me. Overall, they don't lessen the enjoyment very much.
* Goes well with dark nights in this non-winter
* "Indirect scenery" means that the album makes me think of strange-looking scenery, where you don't see straight forwards when looking straight ahead
* Favourite tracks: Prophets (good effects), Razedtab (nicely twisted), Destruct (GREAT effects)

Really creative electro with complex sounding instruments making the mix heavy, but not crowded.. rewarding's the word for it. This artist can sound like an electronic master. Listen to track 5 for an example.
