Album description

Alex Bailey and The Jacks have been producing indie music with a focus on songwriting and diverse sound sampling. "The Four Seasons" was written and recorded in Western Ukraine in 2008. Each section of the album was recorded in correlation with each season of 2008. Alex Bailey and The Jacks have released a number of other albums including: Port Angeles was recorded in a sublet piano room in the Spring of 2007 in Seattle, WA. Fell the Hill is the debut album of The Jacks produced by Alex Bailey in collaboration with Andy Abelow. The album was produced at the Green Ball in beautiful Shepherdstown, WV in the fall of 2005. The Jacks are the collaborative musical works of Alex Bailey and Andy Abelow.

Hi Alex, loved every single minute of this amazing,true, genius of an album, by a talent singer,songwriter and performer, ie You! This album is a true credit, to your style, skill and talent, the amazing way you, have with your lyrics that are quite poetic, passionate and caring, but most of all deep, heart felt and honest, yet open sounding, when you listen to them, as you sing.Great music, that is charismatic,stylish, stimulating and beautiful,yet atmospheric, to each and every track played. This is really an album to saviour,and listen to, fully over and over again, and keep in your music collection, forever.

I liked its uniqueness - but...

I loved this poetic, meandering thinking, type of folk song in "Winter I" and "Winter II" with a beautifully mellow male voice and a strumming acoustic guitar. As I was listening to the lovely "Spring" tracks I realized that the singer would sometimes become a little breathless sounding. Perhaps he could strengthen his gorgeous soft voice just a little. But rarely did I catch that halting and weakening. These songs were written with vivid imagery and with music, such as guitars or other instruments, which impact and punctuate the lyrics. I enjoyed the concept of "The Four Seasons." This album is very unique and special, raw with emotion and observation, hope and dreams. The only problems I observe with this album is that the melody is pretty static and as the songs are word driven if you didn't understand and appreciate the poetry it could get rather boring.
