G 29 sets the pace, in this sound space. Patently dark and atmospheric from the outset, it strikes me as something pertaining to the void. That as a phenomena may be variously placed and interpreted. A nice open book, in some ways. Mech has something more like substance to it, the void being sparsely populated. That is its nature. How to capture the all-encompassing! In fact, Mech seems to put the simultaneous idea of technology right into its appropriate place, in relation to the atmosphere. That strikes me as generally a relationship based on friction and associated wear. Total Noize presents an emphasis, on the point where we meet our environment perhaps.
That this emerges as Total Noize, would not surprise me. Imagining that our interpretation of the unknown/unknowable would be assimilated by the human brain in the form of the nearest equivalent in memory, albeit subconscious maybe. Ducon, again, seems to draw more elements into the fray. I feel a sense of accumulation, totally formed from a distinctly subjective perspective. This seems more focused. This all too brief album draws to a close with Signal Failed, which promotes in this listener a suggestion of a storyline. It not being at all surprising that any signal we emit, however technologically adept we may feel, should fail. That seems par for the course. Good sound manipulation.
