Album description

The Greatest of These is Love is a collection of songs based on the major events in the life of Jesus as recounted in the Gospels which has grown into what I hope one day will be a musical.

I have tried as far as possible to be faithful to the original text and the music reflects the influence of my major songwriting heroes over the past 50 years - the Beatles, Paul Simon, Kris Kristofferson and James Taylor.

The title is based on St. Pauls first letter to the Corithtians which contains one of the most beautiful descriptions of love ever written. Love is the the source and the destination of all that is and as Jesus is the the most perfect manifestation of love, this is the reason I have chosen this title.

We are thrilled with your work and frankly everyone needs to get away from the slick profesionalism that is, too often, void of the Holy Spirit in the Church today. Thank you, there in Dublin.

Very relaxing, about God and stuff. We never seem to hear a lot of this sort of music in the media in the UK. It's a shame because there's few outlets other than the indernet for independent religious works or art - we now get "evangelical" channels but there's political and money issues underpinning these stations.
But back to the music, there's a lot of classic melodies to be sought out here- I particularly like the "I'd like to teach the world to sing" influences in The Wedding of Cana..
The only real issue is the dynamics aren't quite as good as they could be. It's a difficult choice though for an artist- between recording in the personal environment (such as the bedroom) and going to a studio with a good producer and losing some of that personality, being traded for a better "musical" sound. If you're in the UK, we'd possibly be interested in working with you, as this sort of thing is up our street.

best wishes

I really like the style. I really enjoyed Martha and Mary. It brought a smile to my face.
