Album description

Tab & Anitek :Chasing Rabbits EP

Chasing Rabbits is the newest solo release from Tab of the NJ hip-hop group The Dead Poets.  This nine track EP was entirely produced by Anitek, who has worked with many artists from Division East Records as well as underground acts such as Young Zee.  The album was created as a concept album and was made with all original music.  This thought provoking trip "down the rabbit hole" was created in only 2 months and touches on a variety of topics.  Anitek's trip-hop style production paints a beautiful backdrop for Tab's vivid story telling, mixed with catchy hooks from the help of Elle Rose, this album will stick in your head long after your first listen.  The inside jacket of the CD explains it best....

"This album is for anyone who gave up on a dream to settle for the mediocre...
For anyone medicated for asking questions..
Judged for being different..
Hated for being honest..
This is the soundtrack for those stuck on the slow road to nowhere...
For BIG dreams in shitty towns..
For anyone chasing something they will never find.."

I can listen to this anytime.
Sometimes I feel guilty for not checking out new music...because I get stuck on this album.
It's my third favorite album.
The first being "In An Aeroplane Over The Sea" by Neutral Milk Hotel.
The second is "Funeral" by Arcade Fire.
I'm not a giant hip-hop fan, but most of Tab's fans seem not to be.
I cannot praise this album enough.
One of the best concept albums of all time.
I've listened to Poet in the Dark now as well, and it's almost on par.
Their version of the Gary Jules version of Mad World is freaking amazing.
Everything about this band deserves to be known.
I cannot believe this is just a small underground band.
I have told so many people about this band, and NOBODY, I repeat NOBODY has not liked it, hip-hop fan or no.
In short, this album is tits, and I will spread the word as long as I live.
I listen to a lot of music, and for me to proclaim this as my third favorite album is REALLY saying something.

Thank you Tab and Anitek.
I love you, with all my heart.
Make more, please.

This is astounding. Tight, absurdly well-written, and well-produced. Stop what you are doing and download this album, along with The Vermont Tapes and the Empty Bottle Project. It's rare to see today an album full of good tracks *that also work together to form an album*. It's more than the sum of its parts.

I'm amazed these guys aren't more famous than they are.

I fell upon this album and am completely hooked on it. Every lyric in it speaks .....no screams out bitter reality. Ive honestly never heard anything I can relate to more. Thankyou tab I mean it!

I really enjoyed listening to this album. I don't usually listen to hip hop, but I am glad that I gave this album a chance. There is a lot lyrics that I can relate too.

After listening to a few of your tracks, I really enjoyed everything that I had heard. Your lyrics came out and spoke to me. I could relate to much of what you were trying to say. Keep up the great work!

In a flea pit of a hotel room. Run down and disgusting and sickness and vile looking and living around me and near me. The people let alone the place itself. I sit alone and gulp down on my bourbon on the rocks in my dirty glass. And hear the gun shots fire outside. And the screams and look outside and see the blood on the pavements. And the cop car siren in the distance heading closer. A knock at the door. And the bitch from reception. Ask me the time and money for my room rent. Bitch she is cheap and nasty. Then the gang from the hood come walking in and she runs out the room. The jobs on for tonight Jerome he says. And leaves the gun in the bedside draw and walks on out the door..
