Album description

LJ Kruzer and Uncharted Audio present the Tam Variations, eight engaging experimental versions of Tam, a piece which features on Kruzer's forthcoming album Manhood & Electronics. Each variation is the end result of methodical sequences of sound processing exploring all the possibilities of computer manipulation of digitised sound data - stretching, squashing, restretching and resquashing giving the concertina'd timbres of Tamz; filtering, distorting and reverberating backwards and forwards to create the rough textures of Tamx and Tamxr; modulating brown noise with the source audio to give Tamb; and simple stretching and reverberating resulting in the billowy melancholy of the collection's opener Tam814.

At the right time it might be the right ambient tune to tune in to

"Tam 8", a rather expressionless sequence of synthetical sounds, think that is the source of the following variations.
Nothing against various versions of raw source material. That's how i proceed when creating graphics.
But when an outcome ain't successful it may be kept just as completion, i.e. "Tamz"
Some may like its abstract timbre, i don't.
The other Tams are easy audible brain entertainment not going too much into depth and height. Each of it is basic enough to work as ground layer for more complex instrumentation.
What makes it a chilling instrumental accompaniment while you're at work ie.

I've been criticizing a lot, but in the end, i wrote this review not because it left me indifferent ; ) Sorry of me talking quite critical about certainly endless hours of finishing.

At the right time it might be the right tune to tune in to.
Sure recommendable acoustical neck massage!

Good album

I'm not sure what would qualify it as melancholic, but it's a solid ambient album, with plenty of well-spaced and thoughtful constructions, using some decent samples. Never felt too cluttered, which is a sign of good ambient, in my opinion. Good stuff! Have a listen!
