I was attracted to this album by the retro-looking cover, but I had no idea what I was in for when I played it. At a glance of the song titles, I suppose I was expecting someone to rip off Whirlwind Heat, but what I got instead was a carnival of playful and beautiful melodies intertwined in one of the most unusual timbres I've ever heard. It turns out that Balloons is a perfect record for just about any occasion. The conciseness of the tracks makes this otherwise avant garde material accessible to just about anyone with an ear for jazz and rock. Balloons is a find that made my day. I have downloaded it, I will put it on my iPod, and I will most certainly be jamming out with it over and over again. Highly recommended listening.

Wow! What huge fun!

"Orange I" put me in mind of being at a carnival with its hyperactive tempo and upbeat message. Its brilliant.
"Blue" I thought it was an outstanding idea to use the colors of the balloons to describe a mood - as "Blue" is a little more sedate in emotion and tempo.
I loved the beats in the middle of "Orange II" which is beautiful and is quite a different tune from its predecessor.
"Red" had me popping - with its powerful beat and energy. I think that could be my favorite since it completely took over control of my tapping feet.
I loved the snap to "Green" which came at me with an interestingly slower pace but was so upbeat and cool.
And "Orange III" took off with the whole bunch of balloons and rocketed off into the ozone.

This album has been brilliantly conceived and implemented with talent and artistry. What a fun album and it made me laugh for pure joy. This is such oddball, interesting and just plain fun music. Who can resist? I'll have to make a download and play it for my students when we have had enough of the gray rainy days in my town.

Although I must say I was sad to see no purple balloons. What would purple sound like? Hmm....

This album is a joy to listen to, the first track made me think of 1930's Raymond Scott, and then from there it launched into something completely unique. Fascinating album, I will put it on my ipod! Thanks, great work.
