MOTI ARMONICI

                                                               UNO

                    L'apparente entropia diviene autonomamente forma.

Alfonso Tregua suona strumenti MIDI, synth, percussioni

A very nice arrange of sound, not as easy to put together as is seem to listen. But then again I'm such a fan of this kind o music.

I find describing this album quite difficult. The instrumentation is simple and the first four tracks comprise of bells and synthesizer(s) which easily fit together well. The last two contain nostalgic synthesizers which may not be for everyone, but I personally love the minimalism on display.

The titles of the last two tracks differ from the first numbered 4, as does the music so I'll describe them separately. The numbered tracks could almost be labeled easy listening. It is true that they're easy to the ear, but the melodies are not so easy on the mind. The overall direction of the songs is quite subtle with the complexity of what the instrumentation is playing over the top of the base melody. This is where I understood why the instrumentation had to be kept simple, there's already a great deal happening in the piece to keep track of. I forgot the textures and sounds of the instruments to focus on the notes being played. Though relatively unconventional, I enjoyed this musical style which is quite unique as far as my listening goes.

The last two tracks contain few instruments and focus on the melodies in a straightforward manner. I like the timing on the 5th and the Orchestron-style (Kraftwerk among others) sound of the 6th.

I'm only giving this a 7 because it's short and not innovative instrumentally, though admittedly it's not trying to be. The music really is lovely - subtle yet rewarding.
